What came to your mind first, when you read this line?

Did it feel more like permission?

Pressure?

A calling?

Did you notice the birds? What did their image invoke in you?

In a world full of to-do lists, demands, and high expectations, sometimes it is easy to get caught in the hamster wheel of daily life.

Or to surrender to the external pressure to do

more,

‍ ‍better,

‍ ‍faster.

Having goals is healthy, and trying to achieve things is important.

But what many people forget, is to take some time to “not do”. To just be. In the present moment, with yourself.

We are human beings.

But what does it even mean, to just be?

If you are not used to this concept, it might sound strange, at first. And if you are well aware, this might just be a reminder for you to practice right now.

Let’s try it for a minute, shall we?

Where are you?

Take in your surroundings.

The colors, the textures, the sounds, the temperature.

Really take it all in.

How is your body feeling?

Feel if there are any parts holding any tension. Try and see if you can release them, just a little bit.

Are you standing, sitting? Feel the touch of your feet on the floor, or of your body on the chair.

How is your breathing? Fast or slow? Shallow or deep? Just observe it for a little while, without the intent of changing it.

If you imagine watching yourself from above, and slowly start zooming out, what do you see?

Here you are. Welcome back to yourself.
